MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT PROFILE
Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery.
It also concentrates into the design, production and usage and operation of machines, from small individual parts and devices (small sensors) to large systems (spacecraft). Mechanical engineering aims at controlling the principles of motion, energy, and force through mechanical solutions and also deals with analysing problems to see how mechanical and thermal devices might help solve a particular human/social problem, thus inventing new devices.
Graduates from a mechanical engineering degree can take contracting or consulting jobs on the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of equipment and machinery and choose from career options like: mechanical engineer, maintenance engineer, instrumentation engineer, contracting civil engineer, engineering/energy consultant, engineering technician, and engineering draftsperson.
The institute has introduce mechanical engineering branch with 120 seats. CRIT promises to enhance the quality of education, academic infrastructure and technical research with innovation. The Institute is committed to offer knowledge, wisdom and creativity so that students come out with flying colors. We are very much aware of the industrial development especially in the field of steel, aluminum, ship yards, power sectors and mines.
CRIT has fruitful workshops with automatic and semi automatic machines like milling machine, lathe machines, shaper, power hacksaw, drilling machines, grinder, arc and gas welding system. The department is soon establishing the laboratories like heat transfer, fluid machines, IC engines, M.E. lab, mechanical testing lab, machine drawing with latest software like PRO E, CAD / CAM. Our faculties are well trained in the latest software like CAD / CAM, PRO E etc. Faculties are known to different IIT's and NIT'S to update their knowledge through different seminars and workshop.
